Embark on an Exciting Literary Journey! Join our Independent Reading Project and dive into a world of stories and creativity! This unique project experience is designed to enrich your students’ reading and writing skills through a series of engaging activities. It provides them with accountability for their reading with various response tasks set out to be completed fortnightly. How It Works: (Instructions for your students) Choose Your Novel: Pick a captivating novel that interests you. Read and Reflect: Begin by reading the first chapter to immerse yourself in the story. Creative Challenges: Select from a variety of activities to complete after each reading session, fostering deeper understanding and creativity. Fortnightly Check-ins: Your teachers will review your progress every two weeks, providing valuable feedback and guidance. Share Your Journey: Discuss your novel and the insights you’ve gained, enhancing your learning experience. Get Involved: Exciting Activities: Choose from creative writing, artwork, dramatic presentations, and more. Community and Feedback: Engage with your classmates and receive regular support from your teachers. Special Rewards: The most enthusiastic and effective class will be celebrated with a special reward at the end of the academic year! Unleash your imagination and explore the depths of literature with our Independent Novel Project. Inform your teacher of your chosen novel’s title and author, and get ready for a year of literary adventures! NOTE: This was originally made for a school running the IB MYP, hence why the standards for MYP are listed in the project booklet - however, this can be adapted for KS2/KS3/K-12 etc. The project was run in a ‘paper-free’ school, meaning that the students completed it on devices. If you are printing it as booklets please ensure to edit the document to create enough space for resposnes from students.
